The Backyard Chart works in a similar way to the BUZZ chart in that it is measured through mentions on social media and votes – however this time it includes each bands’ webcast views too.

The winner of the Backyard Chart will host a battle of the bands between our 5 winners in their backyard – this will then be webcast to the world!

The winner of the Backyard Jam will get some huge prizes – but we can’t tell you what they are just yet, stay tuned because they are HUGE!

The guys treated us to three tracks performed live from their dorm and they all sound great!

The first track we hear in the webcast is their winning song, Dig The Sound, which is definitely an ode to the Chilli Peppers – one of Go Mason Go’s primary influences (spot the RHCP poster in the background).

We were then treated to two tracks that we’d never heard before, Window and Better, both of which sound amazing – Go Mason Go are definitely a band to watch in the future!

Go Mason Go have won the fourth round of Bedroom Jam 2012! We’ve been filming them this week and will be webcasting their performance this Thursday from 7pm.

The guys gave us three tracks that we’d never heard before directly from their dorm – forget bedroom jam, this was dorm room jam!

We had to go to the very edge of Sydney to the boys’ school in Glenfield where the phone reception was non-existent and the smell of cows was rife. It was all worth it though, as we got to see these young talents in action.

These guys will go far and we can’t wait to hear what they bring to the rest of the competition. Make sure you don’t miss our fourth webcast starring Go Mason Go this Thursday at 7pm!

It’s been a close round with a lot of new-comers in the competition making a huge splash in the buzz chart but in the end it came down to Go Mason Go, The Esplanade and Pacific Rift.

All three bands’ pages were going crazy with votes making this our closest round to date. Make sure you have a listen to The Esplanade and Pacific Rift because they’ll go on to do big things.

In the end, Go Mason Go came out on top with Dig The Sound (which we think sounds like a bit of a tribute to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers). These guys have got talent and we can’t wait to send our crew to their bedroom to film the fourth webcast for Red Bull Bedroom Jam 2012.

The webcast will go live next Thursday at 7pm here, in the meantime make sure you have a look at the last three winners’ webcasts.

Go Mason Go have done well in previous rounds, finishing in the top three in Round 3 and making a splash in Round 2. Can they keep it up and take out Round 4?

If they do, they’ll be getting their bedrooms exposed to the world as we film them showcasing some of their best tracks direct from their bedroom.

Lets Not Pretend, Masketta Fall and Your Ticket Home were the winners of our first three rounds and have made it through to the finals. Watch their webcast HERE if you haven’t already!

Round 4 ends on Thursday, so make sure you vote for your favourite band and get them to the top!

Ella Hooper is best known as the front woman of Australian band Killing Heidi.
Since their hiatus, she has continued to influence the industry as one half of The
Verses and through her hosting of Radar Radio.

With over 25 years experience in the music industry, Michael Parisi has played
part in the careers of some incredible acts through artist development, A&R
and artist/label management. He started Michael Parisi Management and
WUNDERKIND record label in 2009 and now has a roster that includes Boy in a
Box, Stonefield and Owl Eyes.

Media Man Dan Bessant is best known for his role in the launch and rise of the
Nova Radio Network. After 12 years with the network, he’s now responsible for
the direction and content across XYZ Networks’ Channel [V], [V] Hits and MAX.

You’ve heard of Silverchair right? Well we’ve got Chris Joannou, bassist from
Silverchair, here to judge the competition! He’s also produced records for a few
artists including ARIA winning The Mess Hall.

Last but not least, skater Corbin Harris will be involved in the competition.
The star of the VANS Warped Tour and Big Day Out is an accomplished author,
designer and TV host and will bring a unique perspective to the Bedroom Jam
judging panel.

With a judging panel of this caliber, we’re pretty certain that we will be
discovering Australia’s next big thing over the next few months!

Lets Not Pretend and Masketta Fall won the first and second rounds respectively
and have now been filmed by the Red Bull Bedroom Jam crew and webcast
online – giving them an opportunity to show the world just how good they are.

All three bands have made it through to the finals, a battle of the bands that will see
the winning band host the concert from their backyard. The finalists may also get
a chance to perform at major gigs around the country (including a festival spot).
The winners will also win studio time (last year’s winners recorded at the Red
Bull Studios in LA!).

There are still heaps of rounds to win, all you have to do is upload an original
song to YouTube, connect your social media channels to your RBBJ profile and
you’re done! Register today and take your music to the world!

The BUZZ charts have been running for 3 rounds now, so we thought it was time to give you some hints on how to maximise your BUZZ. Note that all this information is available in detail in our FAQ.

Voting: The most obvious influence of the BUZZ charts is the voting on your band’s RBBJ page. Make sure your fans are voting 5 stars on your band’s RBBJ page to get your BUZZ kick started!

Facebook: As important as it is for your fans to vote 5 stars on your RBBJ profile page, it is equally as important for them to click the Facebook ‘Like’ button on your RBBJ page.

Twitter: Twitter mentions also play a part in your BUZZ chart rankings – so make sure you have connected your Twitter account to your RBBJ profile page – if you don’t have a Twitter handle, make one!

YouTube: The amount of views your video generates plays a part in how much BUZZ you get. It’s not enough to get your fans to go to your RBBJ page and vote for you, they have to watch the video too to maximize BUZZ!

MySpace: In addition to checking out your video, it’s important to get your fans to view and listen to the tracks on your MySpace, as this also helps calculate your BUZZ.

Hopefully these tips help – even outside of the competition, making sure your fans are active on all of the above platforms will help your band get the BUZZ and exposure you need to make it big!

As you probably know, Masketta Fall were the deserving winners of the second round of Red Bull Bedroom Jam 2012. We went along to their hangouts to film them doing their thing and then had the privelage of watching them as they jammed in their bedroom for the world to see.

We were able to get a glimpse into the lives of these talented musicians as they took us around town, showed us their local (where they regularly play) and showcased their basketball skills – they even invented a move and named it after our very own Ella Hooper.
